Lennart "Almas" Alm

Lennart 'Almas' Alm was a true local from Kungsholmen, growing up at Gambrinusgatan 6 with his mother and younger brother. Almas started playing soccer at KB when he was nine years old and also played bandy and hockey when the club had those sections. He played for KB both as a youth and a senior player. After his playing career, he continued to be a highly regarded leader in the club. Most people don't remain members of the club after they stop playing or coaching, but Almas was an exception. He became a member in the early 1950s, and his last membership fee was paid about a month before he passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 78.

KB meant a lot to Almas, and he was always loyal to the club in his heart. A clear testament to this was his final will, which was approved by the General Inheritance Fund, with the text: "Almas's will. Shall go to KB – Everything".

During his school years and working life, Almas was surrounded by friends from KB, many of whom are now members of the association "Gamla Karlbergare." Gamla Karlbergare is a comradeship formed in 1940 and has a close collaboration with KB. Its approximately 100 members were previously active players or coaches in KB, or had supported the club in other ways. Several members had known Almas for more than 50 years. One of the goals of Gamla Karlbergare is to maintain regular contact with members they perceive as lonely and who therefore have an extra need for personal interaction. Almas was one of these members, as he lived alone during the last years of his life.

Gamla Karlbergare, led by Chairman Kjell Sjöbeck, have been invaluable in resolving all matters related to Almas's will and passing. Thanks to them, it has been possible, through those who knew Almas best, to fulfill his wish of supporting Karlbergs BK.

When it was confirmed that KB would have access to the inheritance, Gamla Karlbergare established a working group consisting of members who had known Almas since the 1950s. Bosse, Hans-Åke, Stickan, and Uffe had been friends with Almas both as KB players and as companions in their free time. They were tasked with developing proposals for how the funds should be used in "Almas's spirit".
